Item Análisis de la Motivación Intrínseca y Extrínseca y su Relación con el Desempeño Organizacional(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Lobatón Cuero, Michel Andrea; Cardona Urrea, Mariana Camila; Ortiz Noreña, Juan Diego; Valencia Velosa, Juan Manuel (Director)The purpose of this study is to analyze intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and their relationship with organizational performance through a documentary review, seeking to more clearly understand how these elements affect productivity, talent retention, and organizational success. This research is classified as descriptive and adopts a qualitative approach, drawing on secondary sources such as scientific articles, theses, books, and reports obtained from databases such as Dialnet, Scielo, Redalyc, and Google Scholar. The results show that intrinsic motivation, linked to personal interest and satisfaction, is associated with faster and more effective learning; in contrast, extrinsic motivation can be related to financial incentives or recognition. In conclusion, motivation, whether intrinsic or extrinsic, is one of the keys to improving performance and learning; however, intrinsic motivation exerts a more persistent effect on performance and knowledge acquisition over time. Likewise, the type of leadership described in leadership theories (transformational, authentic, inclusive) represents a necessary condition for generating a positive work environment and, so, fostering employee motivation and performance. A favorable work environment in organizations is also an essential requirement for talent retention, innovation, and organizational results, making work environment management a path to business success. Finally, future studies could delve deeper into how these variables vary in diverse cultural contexts, as well as the effects of digitalization and remote work on motivation, leadership, and the work environment.
