Violence against men in the context of couple relationships in Latin America is a frequently underestimated and under-researched phenomenon; Traditionally, the narrative about domestic violence has been dominated by the image of women as victims and men as aggressors. However, recent research has begun to shed light on the experience of men who experience violence from their female partners. Likewise, studies indicate that men can be victims of various types of violence. This is why this article bases its methodology on documentary analysis, using the bibliographic review technique and the specialized analytical review matrix-RAE, as an instrument for organizing information. Likewise, the objective is to analyze the types of violence that affect men in the Latin American context. Finally, we can affirm that according to what has been researched, the literature on violence against men remains scarce, especially in Latin America. It is crucial to be able to promote more research on this topic to fully understand the phenomenon and develop appropriate public policies that make these experiences visible to break social esteems regarding masculinity.
