Norte del Departamento del Cauca(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Buitrago Galindez, Samuel David; Collazos Quintero, Yeniffer Vanessa; Ossa Narváez, Karol Tatiana; López Flórez, YohanaIntroduction: High blood pressure is a highly prevalent chronic pathology, it is considered a public health problem; according to WHO, despite advances in detection, treatment and control, patients fail to adhere to their treatment, there is evidence of difficulties in controlling hypertensive patients; and among the factors to consider is the absence of high blood pressure programs; which leads to secondary cardiovascular events. This is why, once hypertensive patients are detected, it is important that they enter a program to follow up and control tension figures to prevent complications. Objective: To identify the causal factors of absence to a control program of arterial hypertension. Methodology: a descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted, 312 questionnaires were conducted in person and telephone by users of the high blood pressure program of an ESE Norte of the department of Cauca. Results: Forgetfulness was found to be the main reason for no-show in the Arterial hypertension program (30.8%); perceiving that the means used by the institution to remember appointments are insufficient (52.6%); feel good, they never stop attending their control appointments (68.6%), and the geographic location of the house to the hospital does not make it difficult for them to attend scheduled appointments (69.9%). Discussion: no-show is an indicator that affects the quality of health care programs, this study found that 68.3% have ever stopped attending their control appointments; oblivion was the main cause of no-show (30.8%) factors such as the socio-economic, geographical, institutional factor that the institution should implement strategies to remember scheduled appointments.
