Item Identificación de factores externos e internos más influyentes en el fracaso de las mipymes en santiago de cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Rincon Cortes, Isabella; Bravo Garcia, Saulo (Director)MSMEs in Colombia play a very important role, as they are the most abundant type of companies and contribute significantly to employment and the country's economy (Ibarra et al., 2021). However, despite how relevant they are, MSMEs are the most unstable organizations in the country, as the vast majority do not even manage to reach 5 years of life (Confecámaras, 2017). This research work is conducted in Santiago de Cali, one of the Colombian cities with the highest participation of MSMEs (Cámara de Comercio de Cali, 2022). Taking into account the above, there is a need to understand why these companies are failing, that is why the purpose of the research is to know what are the obstacles that MSMEs in Cali are facing in order to propose strategies to solve the problems that prevent the growth of these organizations. In order to meet the objectives stated in the previous paragraph, a review of the scientific literature is carried out by means of degree theses from different universities, newspapers and economic magazines, business books and statistical documents that allowed gathering all the necessary information about the environments that surround a company and how their factors negatively impact the MSMEs of Santiago de Cali, to later choose the most influential and relevant factors of both environments and conclude with strategies that mitigate these effects, in order to boost the growth of these organizations and promote their permanence in the market. The results obtained in the research are 8 factors (4 from the external environment and 4 from the internal environment) that are considered the most influential in the disappearance of MSMEs in Cali. On the one hand, in terms of external factors are the customer and competition, access to sources of financing, technological progress and internationalization. On the other hand, if we talk about the internal factors obtained in the research, we find the lack of financial education, the deficiency in the selection of human talent, the lack of strategic planning and the lack of technological implementation.Item Oportunidades para las micro y pequeñas empresas en el marco de la cuarta revolución industrial: evidencia empírica(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Caldas Baltan, Kewing Miguel; Bravo Garcia, Saulo (Director)The central purpose of the research is to determine the opportunities for micro, small and medium sized Colombian companies in the framework of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Throughout the work, a theoretical presentation is made, as well as context analysis and statistical information related to the main theme. I4.0 represents a transformation of production, distribution, consumption systems and greater connectivity and access to information networks, for which the main characteristics of each of the components of this technological revolution are exposed, such as: artificial intelligence, Internet of things, big data, business intelligence, among others, in the same way the main difficulties faced by MSMEs both in Latin America and in Colombia are outlined, the challenges and opportunities that are expected with the technological transformations that will take place in the next 25 years. The focus of the work is mainly descriptive and exploratory, since it is a very recent topic and of which there is little research in the region, mainly focused on case studies rather than on a general characterization and impact of this technology in the business environment.
