To carry out this work, a descriptive literature review was carried out in the following databases and search engines: PubMed, Science Direct, Dialnet, Scopus, Scielo and Google Scholar, in order to analyze the relationship of the Short Battery of Physical Performance (SPPB) with the risk of falls in elderly people. As the person ages, there is a direct relationship with falls, being a risk factor for them, and a decrease in functional capacity (2). The analyzed articles show that the SPPB in comparison with the Timed Up and Go (TUG), Performance Oriented Mobility Assessment (POMA) and Modified Fall Efficiency scales, provides an indication of global frailty in older adults, being a simple and reliable method. to identify elderly people who fall frequently, being necessary that from the professional perspective a multidisciplinary work is carried out with the fear of falling and physical performance. It was concluded that according to the subcategory of walking speed in the SPPB with a time greater than 6.2 in a distance of 4 meters, it is related to the risk of falling in people over 65 years of age.
