Item Implementación de la metodología SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) para la reducción del tiempo de setup en una línea de producción de la empresa Aptar Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Cañas Chaves, Rubén Darío; Betancur Barrera, Yadiri; Rojas Trejos, Carlos Alberto (Director)This article presents the increase of availability time in a production line through the use of the SMED tool (Single Minute Exchange of Die), a technique belonging to Lean Manufacturing, which has been widely used over time by companies with In order to solve problems through continuous improvement, following this order of ideas, the main objective of this case study is the need for the application of the SMED method to the productive line gs of the company APTAR of Cali that is dedicated to the manufacture of dispensing solutions (container extraction pumps), which by analyzing the data collected, was identified as the most critical line in comparison with the others, due to the fact that its availability index is below the goal established by the company , an index that should be around 70% and whose average in the last 3 months does not exceed 53%. In the article we detail the steps of how this technique was applied to the gs line, also how it affects positively the global productivity indexes, eliminating, converting and improving if possible the activities that make up the production process of the gs line , applying the Scamper method to each of them, decreasing routes, digitizing formats, improving working conditions, modifying the order of how activities are executed, among others, achieving a significant reduction of SETUP time by 52%, increasing Direct way the availability of the machine and reducing production costs.
