Item Alteraciones en la ingesta de alimentos por vía oral en adultos mayores con enfermedad de alzheimer: una revisión de alcance(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Quintero Rojas, Nicole; Vivas Díaz, Angélica María; Bernal Sandoval, Lina MarcelaAlzheimer’s disease (AD) is a common disease associated with aging and the leading cause of dementia worldwide. The aim of this study is to investigate and characterize the deterioration of oral food intake in patients with Alzheimer’s disease in relation to geriatric syndromes and changes associated with cognitive decline. A scope review of studies published in repositories including PubMed, Medline, Lilacs and Google Scholar from 2013 to 2024 was conducted using relevant MeSH and DeCS terms. Of the 133 articles initially identified, 6 were selected for their detailed analysis of complete reading, showing that in the previous literature it has been shown that changes in feeding are related to the deficiency of lingual propulsion, ineffective chewing, significant oral residues after swallowing and the presence of cough or asphyxia when consuming solids and/or liquids, associated with AD, being the symptoms in moderate stage of the most pronounced pathologyItem Caracterización de las compensaciones articulatorias del habla con pacientes con labio paladar fisurado que asisten a la Fundación Gracias a Dios un Niño Sonríe - 2018B(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Bernal Sandoval, Lina Marcela; Mendoza Angarita, Paola Andrea; Vásquez Rendón, Karem; Argüello Vélez, PatriciaThe articulatory compensations are speech modifications that are present in cleft palate, high and low pressure phonemes are altered in this pathology. This investigation was developed under the Gracias A Dios Un Niño Sonríe Foundation’s authorization, who’s supported by Smile Train, an international organization that provides a solution to cleft palate’s burden by trainings, funding and other resources that are necessary such as operation and free rehabilitation processes. Objective: The aim of this study is to do the characterization of the compensations present in cleft palate in patients who assisted to Gracias A Dios Un Niño Sonríe Foundation on 2018 B period. Method: This was a transversal quantitative descriptive study. The total of participants was 17, female and masculine gender, 7 years older. Data was recollected, first, considering the clinical history’s information that was registered at the beginning, then the voice recording was registered, which allow to develop a more univariate and bivariate results. Results: The most affected phonemes in the participants was the high-pressure ones, considering that the compensations are present on absolute initial position and intervocalic position. It was evidenced major prevalence of nasal emissions and fricatives.
