Item Manejo de la necrosis avascular en paciente adolescente con anemia de células falciformes. Reporte de caso(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Becerra Riascos, Karol Tatiana; Caicedo Delgado, Yader Camilo; Díaz Chavarro, Blanca Cecilia (Directora)Anemia is characterized by the alteration of erythrocytes and comes in various forms, including Sickle Cell Anemia (SCA), which is defined by the deformation of erythrocytes into a sickle shape due to a genetic mutation. SCA is prevalent in the Middle East, the Mediterranean, sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America. SCA leads to complications such as vaso-occlusive crises and tissue infarctions. The research methodology employed a case report approach, gathering information through interviews with the patient, their mother, and sister, along with a physical assessment, a review of the patient's medical history, and diagnostic aids. Notable findings included the patient's denial of symptoms, non-adherence to treatment, particularly in performing prescribed exercises and taking medications as directed, as well as deficits in self-sufficiency and autonomy in self-care and the recovery process. These results informed the development of a nursing care plan involving the patient and their family, ultimately leading to the implementation of a multidisciplinary approach that improved the recovery process and enhanced the patient's autonomy.
