Item ¿Cuáles son los efectos del ejercicio terapéutico en pacientes con enfermedad de Parkinson? Revisión literaria, 2023(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023-11) Millán López, Nicole; Barrera, Valeria; Taborda Pulgarín, Lizeth; Muñoz Martínez, Aida Paola( Directora)Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative condition with no cure, although therapeutic strategies can help slow its progression. The aim of this literature review was to describe the effects of therapeutic exercise in patients with Parkinson’s disease and identify the most commonly used interventions. A search was conducted in PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and Google Scholar for studies published between 2012 and 2022, including clinical trials, systematic reviews, case studies, experimental, and quasi-experimental designs in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Of 60 studies initially identified, 14 met the inclusion criteria according to the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Findings indicate a higher prevalence in men over 60 years of age. Therapeutic exercise demonstrated significant benefits in balance, gait, and muscle strength, with aquatic, physical, and virtual reality interventions proving particularly effective in improving functionality in patients with Parkinson’s disease.
