Item Situación actual de procedimientos quirúrgicos para el pectus excavatum: Revisión de alcance(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Arizabaleta Hurtado, Valeria; Castillo Viveros, Zaira Liseth; López López, María NelaIntroduction. Pectus excavatum (PE) is a malformation in which the cartilage does not develop properly and therefore causes subsidence and is more predominant in men. Therefore, they are of congenital origin associated with the consequences of the development of the thoracic cage belonging to type one, these being cartilaginous (1-4). Likewise, the diagnostic method used is magnetic resonance, which through an image allows visualizing the anatomy in detail (5). Thus, the first surgical procedure was published by Dr. Mark Mitchell Ravich in 1994 (6) and later a minimally invasive procedure was created in 1998 by Dr. Donald Nuss (7). Aim. Know the current situation of surgical procedures for pectus excavatum Materials and methods. The databases that were used were: Researchgate, Refseek, Scielo, Pubmed, Secipe, Springer Link, Oxford Academic, Science Direct, Electronic Base of Medical Portals, Electronic Health Research Base, and the Google Scholar Reservoir Result: Surgery de Nuss has been the fundamental basis for carrying out different modifications due to the flexibility of the ribcage or, on the contrary, the creation of innovative surgical techniques and lighter and more resistant sternal materials that provide the patient with other treatment options. Conclusion: Recent surgical procedures to repair the anomaly are good options that provide aesthetic, functional, and functional aesthetic results that generate confidence and safety in the patient
