Method. Exploratory review of literature based on criteria of the PRISMA-SCR methodology, which includes studies published between 2020 and 2023. The search was carried out in the databases and search engines Science Direct, PubMed, SCOPUS, Google Scholar, LILACS , using the terms COVID -19, SARS-CoV-2, pressure release ventilation, critical patient. The assessment of the quality of the studies was carried out with the PEDro and MINORS scales.
