Item Efectividad del reprocesamiento de endoscopios(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2020) Arboleda Lara, Daniela; Blandón Restrepo, Daniela; Estrella García, María Alejandra; Millán Estupiñán, Juan Carlos (Director)The research presented below is a theoretical review of research in the field of microbiological risks when cleaning and disinfecting endoscopes. It is based on a descriptive methodology with a qualitative focus, it reviews various articles on the reprocessing of endoscopes with specialized databases, including manuals. The criteria used for the inclusion are texts published in the last seven years, except for those that are older due to their validity but which focus on the concept of cleaning and disinfection, excluding those that are older and do not address the aforementioned topics. The data was analyzed from a tracking matrix. The results obtained are presented in three sections: first, it defines through a literature review the different risks associated with infection transmissions. Second, it describes the different microorganisms that have been found after reprocessing, and finally, it establishes some guidelines on the endoscopes cleaning and disinfection processes. It comes to the conclusion that endoscope processing can be carried out safely if the personnel in charge of these activities follow the guidelines and current regulations, and also if the infrastructure conditions are adequate to guarantee the correct cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes.
