In this work, the reactivity study of the 4,4 '- (4,4'-isopropylidene diphenoxy) bis (phthalic anhydride) (IDBPA) ligand was performed. This ligand was previously treated under reflux and acid medium in order to obtain a tetracarboxylic acid (IDA). Once the IDA ligand was obtained, different hydrothermal synthesis conditions were performed. A proposed molecular formula compound [Cu(C31O10H20)(H2O)2](H2O)4 was obtained, which was characterized by different techniques such as infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and powder X-ray diffraction. A MOF-type crystalline coordination compound was also synthesized, which was formed by the hydrolysis of (N, N-dimethylformamide) in solvothermal medium. The obtained compound present a molecular formula [Ni(HCO2)3](CH3)2NH2, and its structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. 5 In addition, this compound was characterized by infrared spectroscopy and thermo gravimetric analysis. The obtained compound crystallizes in the trigonal R-3c space group. The compound is form by 1/2 of the ligand (formiate anion), 1/3 of the Nickel and 1/3 of the solvent, by asymmetric unit. The three-dimensional structure is formed because the formiate ligand join two nickel atoms acting as a bridge between metal cations along the three dimensions to give rise to a 3D polymer.
