Item Propuesta de mejora en la línea de producción continua en el área de formaletas de aluminio en una empresa del sector de la construcción de Santiago de Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Agudelo Arango, Juan Camilo; Paz Castro, Andrés David; Soto Meneses, Juan Manuel; Rojas Peña, Oscar Mauricio (Director)The transformation and evolution of construction materials through the inclusion of new technologies align with the increasing construction volume in the country, requiring materials that expedite processes, such as aluminum formwork, which has gradually replaced wood in concrete forming and pouring processes. This research aimed to present an improvement proposal for the continuous production line of aluminum formwork in a construction company based in Cali. The methodology employed was applied research with a mixed approach, combining qualitative and quantitative elements. The study was carried out in four phases, each addressing a specific aspect of the proposed objectives to enhance the efficiency of the continuous production line. This was achieved through process analysis and scenario simulation to verify the effectiveness of the designed proposals based on the results of pilot tests. The results revealed the presence of bottlenecks, production delays, idle times, and manual product transfer between stations. The improvement proposal included modifying the plant layout and incorporating a mechanical roller table for transferring the formwork under construction from one station to another. Additionally, it proposed integrating the welding task into each station instead of limiting it to the final two, as was initially the case. The conclusions highlight that the proposed improvements increased process efficiency, raising the production rate from six formworks per work shift to an average of nine, resulting in a 30% increase as initially anticipated.
