Relación entre la succión digital y el desarrollo de los trastornos temporomandibulares en niños revisión bibliográfica
(2022) Acosta Ramirez, Paula Andrea; Ruiz Moreno, Jenny Alexandra; Espinosa Perez, Mónica
Suction corresponds to the first reflex that is part of fetal and neonatal development and meets biological needs for the baby to nourished and survive. The habit of digital suction occurs more frequently in children and this is considered normal up to a certain age and must be interrupted since if it is prolonged it will cause alterations in the stomatognathic system, generating an imbalance in the dental, muscular and skeletal structures, thus increasing the possibility of developing disorders in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
