La zona rural se caracteriza por contener riquezas en flora y fauna, en las zonas rural existen asentamientos de comunidades negras e indígenas que desde hace mucho tiempo que como comunidad tienen sus costumbres sociales, culturales, su manera especial de ejercer actividades económicas, sus usos medicinales tradicionales todo comprendido en una cultura ancestral de las mismas actualmente se realizan acciones necesarias que conlleve a mantenimientos constantes del recurso hídrico; a partir de eso se ve la necesidad de realizar la caracterización de las fuentes hídricas para que sirva de insumo para el mantenimiento constantes y el buen aprovechamiento del recurso hídrico que abunda en el distrito, y la conservación del medio ambiente.
