Objective: To use an evidence-based approach, analyzing hydrotherapy as an intervention for children with autism spectrum disorder. Methodology: Qualitative, descriptive research study, based on bibliographic analysis, extracted from the following databases: Sciencedirect, Pubmed, Springer, Scopus, Dialnet, Scielo between the years 2011 and 2025. Descriptors were used according to those described in health sciences DECS / MESH. The selected articles are from Ecuador, Peru, Brazil and Spain. Keywords were used, such as: Hydrotherapy, Autism spectrum disorder, childhood, aquatic therapy, ASD. Some research articles, including a total of 148 children diagnosed with ASD, between 5 and 14 years old, demonstrated that hydrotherapy is capable of promoting improvements in physical, motor, muscular strength, cognitive, social, and socio-affective aspects. Results: Improved balance, muscular strength, coordination, also advances in social interaction, cooperation, self-esteem, greater confidence, increased eye contact, touch tolerance, ability to initiate, decreased anxiety, reduction of repetitive behaviors, and improved sleep quality. The collected studies suggest that aquatic programs a sessions twice a week.
