With the progress of digitalization, organizations have had to adjust to new work methodologies. This evolution has brought about changes in the way tasks are performed, the way interactions with clients and suppliers take place, and the way resources are managed. This study will focus on analysing the impact of technology on companies' operating procedures and examine the various tools and technologies used in these processes. From this perspective, methodologically, the present study is a qualitative-descriptive type focused on a documentary review process using digital sources of information such as Science Direct, Scopus, Scielo, LILACS, Web of Science, Ebsco, Jstor, and ProQuest for reference search purposes. Many of these sources include online articles, academic reports, digital archives from the University of Santiago de Cali, and official websites at the international, national, and municipal levels. The results demonstrate that, in the current business environment, technology plays a pivotal role in 4 the operational processes of companies. The integration of technology into business operations has enabled the streamlining and enhancement of several procedures. It is not just about adopting new tools and systems, but also about implementing innovative strategies that optimise the available resources. It is important to understand how technology has transformed the operational processes of companies, providing new opportunities and challenges in the business field. In conclusion, the study has shown that technology has a substantial influence on the operational processes of businesses. Automating tasks, improving efficiency and productivity, reducing operational costs, and optimising the supply chain are some of the most prominent benefits. However, challenges such as resistance to change and staff training, information security, and adaptation to new emerging technologies were also identified.
