Item Obtención y caracterización del aceite del fruto de Persea americana (aguacate) y evaluación de la actividad antioxidante como ingrediente en formulaciones cosméticas(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Betancourt Primero, Isabella; Solís Dorado, Valentina; Suarez Osorio, Liseth (Directora); Ciro Monsalve, Yhors Alexander (Director)Dermocosmetics are essential in today's life, and natural or organic products have gained popularity due to the growing awareness of the harmful effects of conventional products. The Persea americana (paperillo avocado) oil from markets was physically and chemically characterized, following the INCONTEC standards for fats and oils. The pulp was dried in a microwave oven, and the extraction was carried out with n-hexane by soxhlet and ultrasound. Chemical parameters evaluated: acidity value (0,70 % oleic acid), peroxide value (66,50 meq of O2/Kg), saponification value (188,82 meq KOH/g) and iodine value (54,14 mg of I2/g). Physical parameters: density (1.0230 g/cm3) and refractive index (1.4324 at 24 °C). The antioxidant activity is calculated using the IC50 parameter and percentage of inhibition (21.84 % to 43.92 %). An anionic formulation was carried out using a hot method: room, stove, and refrigerator. Stability was evaluated, with the room condition being the one with the greatest stability. The antioxidant activity was not representative in the three formulation conditions used.
